Product and use

The windproof layer is created with the use of underlays and façade membranes and protects the insulation material from rain, snow and wind from outside. The insulation is thus permanently protected and cold air does not flow through it, which achieves the maximum insulating effect in the long term.

The following factors must be taken into account when selecting the right underlay and façade membrane:

  • Breathable: Moisture in the insulation should be able to "diffuse out" through the membrane used as quickly as possible so as not to cause any damage to the insulation. The diffusion capacity is indicated by the SD value. The lower it is, the more breathable the material is and the faster the underlying insulation can release the moisture.
  • Waterproof: The roof/façade membrane must be watertight from the outside. The watertightness of roof and façade membranes is indicated by the standardized watertightness test with W1.
  • UV stable: If the membrane is to be exposed to sunlight for a longer period of time, particularly high-quality material should be used that will not be damaged by prolonged exposure to UV radiation. Here we recommend our polyester membranes with acrylate coating Topcoat Thermo UV and Volcano UV.
  • Heat resistance: Due to rising temperatures, it can often get very hot on the roof. Conventional roofing membranes made of polypropylene (PP) have a temperature tolerance of up to approx. 80 degrees. If you want long-term protection, we recommend our polyester membranes with acrylate coating Topcoat Thermo UV and Volcano UV.

The overlaps should be completely sealed to protect the insulation as well as possible from cooling by air and to prevent the ingress of water and moisture. Thanks to the integrated self-adhesive seam of all ALMO membranes, it is very safe and easy to ensure longitudinal sealing. For vertical joints and penetrations and cuts in skylights etc., we recommend the ALMO Versa sealing tape in 60 mm or 100 mm.

Delivery and right of return

We have all goods in stock. As soon as we receive your order, it will leave our warehouse in Pfullendorf within 24 hours. You should receive the goods no later than 3 days after ordering.

Most ALMO products are too large for a Packstation and cannot be delivered there. During the ordering process, you have the option of entering a different delivery address to your billing address and having the parcel delivered to where it can be received safely and securely.

Have your plans or ideas changed at short notice? No problem - at ALMO you have a 30-day right of return. This gives you more time to inspect the goods and adapt your project. If you want to return something, you can send it back quickly and easily and get your money back.
